Amigurumi Madness

I'm getting ready for an upcoming craft show, Indie Craft Revolution at the Mad Art Gallery this year in St. Louis. I love this show and happy to be apart of it for the third year. It will be July 14th 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and July 15th 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  I have been so excited crocheting new things. I love love love all the cuteness that comes from just yarn and crochet hook.

I also applied for Strange Folk, another one of my favorite craft events that will occur in September. There is possibly a third craft show in October that I am excited to be apart of called The Garden Heights Art Walk in Richmond Heights, MO.  I will keep you updated with details as the time gets closer.

Comic books...

So, I've started on the comic books called Fables. (I know I am a bit behind). I first heard of this from a graphic novels course I took in college. I also adore James Jean, who does a lot of the cover work for Fables.

After reading Maus I and II and Persepolis in the class; I knew I wanted to write a graphic novel memoir. Here is my final project from the class, it's not the start of my memoir. We had to create a comic book. Mine is quite silly but oh well. Mind you, this was done in 2007 or 2008 (and I rushed this project).

Crochet coral reef

When I feel like the world is crashing down on me, like I have no where to go...no escape; I hide here. My crocheted underwater world. It's so peaceful and serene here. I've always been fascinated with sea life.

Trust me, I will be crocheting a lot more of these. How can I not? It's about 8" x 12", give or take some. I am actually crocheting a tiny coral reef scene to make a necklace. Can't wait to finish it. These photos are kinda sloppy, I apologize, I just wanted to put some images up.

Been Lazy...

So, I haven't really been creating any new art. Ugh!!! I have been crocheting baby hats like crazy. Everyone is pregnant and need cute little baby hats. I don't mind though.

I have been missing quality studio time when I was school. Here are a few things I've done while in school.

Finally, one new sketch of the year

So, I am really really excited for tomorrow!!! My cousin, Kaitlin is coming in to visit us from New York. It will be her first time here. Can't wait to show here all around, especially in Saint Louis.  Going to see if she will Saint Louis style pizza from Imo's (not sure she will like it), go see the Arch, go to the City Museum, check out McGurk's, going to an 80's theme club, walk around Delmar, possibly see a film at the Tivoli....and so much more.
EEEEEEE!!!!!

The first sketch for 2012 that I did today at work...woo hoo!!!! Don't worry, I was able to work on my tasks at work. I am an extremely good multi tasker (just ask anyone that knows me). The other two paintings were done in 2011.

First blog...ever.

Hello, I am Angelina.

I just wanted a place to share ideas, thoughts, art, crafts, food, pretty much everything with the world.  Going to try to do a sketch and/or painting a day. It will keep me motivated to keep creating (feel like I have been in a rut, artist's block). This will be my virtual sketchbook, to see what goes on in my weird little head.

Here are some sketches I have done in 2011.

Yay, I am excited ^_^
