CHANGES

I know it has been a hot minute since I have posted anything. A lot of changes, good changes, have been happening in my life. One is that my shop, YuMe, is no longer a brick and mortar. My business partner, Kristin Johnson, and I have decided to move it to an online shop. We will continue to do pop up's though! Last Saturday was the last day in the shop. It was bittersweet, but I am excited for the next chapter for YuMe. Definitely going to miss the space A LOT! It was a gorgeous space with such beautiful natural lighting. Loved seeing friends hang out and teaching classes there.

Here are some lovely pictures of the shop!!!

I have also changed up my previous business, e.r.k. I felt it was time for a new name and look. Here it is:::

I applied to be in Wizard World in Saint Louis for next year. I am very excited to be a part of it. It will be April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I have so much to crochet!

I will keep you posted!!! hiiiiiyaaaaaaa

Comic Con...POP-UP Shop...oh my!!!

So, went to Comic Con a couple of Sundays ago and it was AMAZING! Saw some pretty cool actors walking around like Bruce Campbell (my little sister got to talk to him and get a handshake). I got my picture taken with some buddies and Jon Bernthal, Shane from Walking Dead. He was very sweet! Also, got to meet David Mack, one of my favorite illustrators. He was extremely kind. It was a fun-filled day with my sister and dad.

My little sister as Psylocke. I am just wearing my BMO dress!

More fun to come this upcoming Sunday! I will be at BlankSpace from 1pm-5om on 2847 Cherokee Street, St. Louis MO 63118 for the one year anniversary of Wicked Pop-Up Shop. My boyfriend's mom, Yukiko, will be there selling her vintage Japanese clothes. There are going to A LOT of awesome vendors there selling some pretty amazing things.

Come check it out! Men and women's stuff to rummage through. I will be bringing shrimp chips (try one, it's gooooood) if you want to swing by and say hello to myself or Yukiko ^_^

Guess what....? NEW ETSY SHOP!!!

My boyfriend's mom, Yukiko, and I have started a new etsy shop!!! I am sooooo EXCITED (as you can tell). She is a collector of many many many things....one being tons of clothes she has had shipped to her from Tokyo throughout the years. I have decided to work with her and sell some awesome clothes from Tokyo. All of the clothes have been kept in great condition. She has everything hanging (nothing cramped up in boxes).

I have posted a few items just now. My boyfriend, Ian, just so happened to have this awesome mannequin laying around....so, picture time!!!

It's been way too long since I've blogged. Sorry!! Been keeping busy, crocheting, knitting, not so much sketching. Going to be opening a new online shop....more to come about that. I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED about it, can barely contain myself. I want to explode with excitement. Can't wait to reveal it on here for all to see.

Here are a few things I have done this past year:

Amigurumi Madness

I'm getting ready for an upcoming craft show, Indie Craft Revolution at the Mad Art Gallery this year in St. Louis. I love this show and happy to be apart of it for the third year. It will be July 14th 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and July 15th 10 a.m.-4 p.m.  I have been so excited crocheting new things. I love love love all the cuteness that comes from just yarn and crochet hook.

I also applied for Strange Folk, another one of my favorite craft events that will occur in September. There is possibly a third craft show in October that I am excited to be apart of called The Garden Heights Art Walk in Richmond Heights, MO.  I will keep you updated with details as the time gets closer.

Comic books...

So, I've started on the comic books called Fables. (I know I am a bit behind). I first heard of this from a graphic novels course I took in college. I also adore James Jean, who does a lot of the cover work for Fables.

After reading Maus I and II and Persepolis in the class; I knew I wanted to write a graphic novel memoir. Here is my final project from the class, it's not the start of my memoir. We had to create a comic book. Mine is quite silly but oh well. Mind you, this was done in 2007 or 2008 (and I rushed this project).
